Kiev, Feb 5 (IANS) Ukrainian football club Shakhtar Donetsk on Friday said it has completed a transfer of Brazilian Alex Texeira to the Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning on a deal worth a Chinese record of 50 million euros (about $56 million).

“Shakhtar and Jiangsu Suning concluded a record deal in the history of Ukrainian and Chinese football,” Shakhtar CEO Sergey Palkin said in a statement, reports Xinhua.
Commenting on his transfer, Texeira said his ambition in the new team is to make Jiangsu Suning a frontrunner of the Chinese top-flight football league and become one of the leading players of the division.
“My goal is to help my team to achieve new victories and lift it to a top-level, as well as to become a champion and a top goal-scorer,” Texeira told reporters.
Texeira, the 26-year-old Brazilian international, has spent more than 6 years in Ukraine after moving from Vasco de Gama, the club based in Rio de Janeiro, in December 2009.
The attacking midfielder has scored 89 goals in 223 appearances for the Ukrainian side.
