Greater Noida, Feb 4 (IANS) Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd. on Thursday launched its Roadster Motard – Yamaha MT-09 – at the Auto Expo here to strengthen its superbike segment in the Indian market.

Bollywood actor John Abraham unveiled the model, much to the excitement and delight of the superbike fans.
MT-09 has been planned and developed as the flagship model of the MT series and is priced at Rs.10.2 lakh (Ex-showroom in New Delhi) and comes in two colours — Race Blue and Matt Grey.
“We are very excited to introduce the MT-09 to the Indian market after its successful run globally. This launch will reiterate our commitment to offer bikers in India the very best mix of Yamaha’s technological expertise coupled with style and performance,” Yamaha Motor India Sales managing director Masaki Asano said.
The bike from the Japanese manufacturer mounts a newly-developed 847cc, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, in-line triple-cylinder, fuel-injected engine with ABS technology. The model will be imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) by India Yamaha Motor (IYM).
“India is a very crucial market for us and it has been our constant endeavour to offer world class products to our customers here and these two additions bear testimony to our efforts,” added Asano.
