Jammu/Srinagar Feb 4 (IANS) Minimum temperatures throughout the Kashmir Valley on Thursday dropped notches below the freezing point, while the Jammu region continued to show improvement in night temperatures.

“Jammu city recorded the lowest night temperature of 6.6 degrees Celsius,” an official of the MET department said.
“The day’s maximum is likely to go up to 20 degrees today (Thursday). Among other towns in Jammu region, Katra town recorded 7.5, Batote 4.5, Bannihal 4.5, Bhader wah 1.0 and Udhampur 3.0 as the minimum temperature.”
Night’s lowest in Srinagar city was minus 3.0 while it was minus 2.2 in Qazigund town, minus 5.1 in Pahalgam and minus 5.0 in Gulmarg.
Kargil town was the coldest in the state at minus 12.6 while Leh town record ed minus 11.7 as the day’s minimum.
Day’s maximum temperature in Srinagar city is expected to remain around 14 degrees.
Weather office has forecast dry weather across Jammu and Kashmir during the next 24 hours.
