Cuban singer announces dates for US tour

Miami, June 21 (IANS/EFE) Cuban singer-songwriter Pablo Milanes launches his concert tour of the US and Puerto Rico Aug 26 in Washington, promoter Fuego Entertainment said Monday.

On Aug 27 he will take the stage at the American Airlines Arena in Miami and will appear in New York on Sep 10 and in Boston Sep 11, after which he will cross the country to perform in Oakland, California, Sep 15.

His next concert will be in Puerto Rico Sep 17 at the Teatro Bellas Artes in San Juan.

Together with Silvio Rodriguez, Pablo Milanes has been one of the most creative artists of the Cuban Nueva Trova, a pop music movement that originated in the late 1960s.

Milanes has made 29 discs and has won two Latin Grammys.
