Karnataka clears Rs.2,050 crore worth of investments

Bengaluru, June 17 (IANS) The Karnataka government on Wednesday cleared five investment proposals worth Rs.2,050 crore in diverse sectors with job creation potential for 3,532 people.

“The five proposals were cleared by the state high-level clearance committee at a meeting here chaired by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah,” an official statement said.
The proposals are Rs.1,325 crore in textiles by Himatsingka Siede Ltd. at Hassan, Rs.248 crore by Stelis Bio Pharma Ltd. in Bengaluru Rural, Rs.213 crore by Harsha Sugars Ltd. in Belagavi, Rs.156 crore by Auric Industries Ltd. at Raichur and Rs.108 crore by Cheers Breweries at Nanjungud in Mysuru district.
The state government cleared 108 projects with a combined investment of Rs.54,433 crore in last fiscal (2014-15) that could generate jobs for 56,101 people as against 255 projects with combined investment of Rs.42,177 crore in previous fiscal (2013-14).
In a related development, the chief minister allowed a 22-member delegation of women entrepreneurs from the state to participate in an international conference and trade fair at Austin, Texas from June 23 to 25.
“The delegation, led by additional chief secretary (industries) K. Ratna Prabha, will appraise US-based multinationals of investment opportunities across the state and prospects for women entrepreneurs,” the statement added.
