North Korean envoy caught illegally fishing in Germany

Moscow, Jan 21 (IANS/RIA Novosti) The North Korean ambassador to Germany has been caught by police for fishing without a licence in a Berlin river, Svoboda radio station reported Friday.

North Korean Ri Si Hong, who was appointed the ambassador to Germany in September 2011, was noticed Sunday fishing on the bank of the Havel river in southwestern Berlin, the radio station cited a German foreign ministry official as saying.
Germany, which strictly regulates fishing, did not issue any sanctions to the ambassador because of his diplomatic immunity, but warned Ri to respect the law of the country he works in, the radio station said.
