Former guerrilla Mujica wins Uruguayan presidency

Montevideo, Nov 30 (DPA) Jose Mujica, a former member of the leftist guerrilla group Tupamaros who spent 15 years in prison, apparently won Sunday’s presidential election run-off in Uruguay.

His rival, former president Luis Alberto Lacalle, conceded defeat, with exit polls giving Mujica 51 percent to 44 percent for Lacalle.
