London, March 22 (IANS) Actress Christina Applegate is in talks to star opposite Ed Helms in “Vacation”, the remake of Harold Ramis’s 1983 comedy film of the same name. John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein will co-direct the project.
The film revolves around Rusty Griswold, played by Helms and his strong-willed wife played by Applegate, who later becomes unhappy with her husband. They then plan to go on a road trip and resolve their issues, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
The original film, which starred Chevy Chase, was based on the real-life experiences of screenwriter John Hughes while on holiday with his family.
Helms will next be seen reprising his role as Stu alongside Bradley Cooper and Zach Galifianakis in “The Hangover Part III”, which is due for release this summer. It serves as the final installment in the comedy franchise.
