Lagos, Dec 28 (IANS) At least 10 people were killed in an attack by gunmen in a village in Nigeria, security sources said Sunday.
The attack took place in Tattaura village in Kaduna state, Xinhua reported.
Five other people sustained injuries in the attack, which started around 10 p.m. Saturday and were rushed to the Akwanga General Hospital in Nasarawa state, according to witnesses.
The attack came shortly after the village celebrated Christmas.
The local government chairman in-charge of Nasiru Harande area described the incident as “unfortunate”.
Mike Sanga, a community leader, said the attack took place in a shop where some men were relaxing after a dance performance during the Christmas celebration.
