New Delhi, Oct 30 (IANS) A Delhi court Tuesday issued summons to a senior CBI official to explain a probe over a complaint filed against Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit for alleged lapses in the conduct of 2010 Commonwealth Games.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Manish Yaduvanshi issued summons for Nov 27 to CBI superintendent of police to explain the probe against Dikshit over alleged lapses related to conduct of the games.
The court order came after the Delhi Police filed a status report of the case saying CBI was probing the matter.
In the last hearing, an officer of the police’s economic offences wing told the court that the probe, on a complaint against Dikshit, had been referred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The court had earlier held as “maintainable” an application moved by Right to Information activist Vivek Garg.
Garg said a case be filed against Dikshit, her cabinet colleague Raj Kumar Chauhan and former Commonwealth Games Organising Committee chief Suresh Kalmadi for alleged corruption in holding the event.
He made the allegations against Dikshit on the basis of a report by a panel headed by former comptroller and auditor general V.K. Shunglu on lapses related to the mega event.
