New Delhi, Dec 22 (IANS) The Delhi government Saturday announced a slew of measures to improve public transport, including increased trips by DTC buses as well as installing GPS devices in public vehicles.

“It was decided to immediately start the GPS System in autos and in gramin sewa vehicles,” said the statement issued by the transport department, adding that the system has already been installed in DTC and cluster buses and “is being made fully functional”.
Directing his officials to check Public Service Vehicle (PSV) badges of those driving public vehicles, Goswami said that a list of persons having the badges would be made available on the internet.
He further directed all public vehicles to immediately remove any curtains or tints on their windows and install white light in the cabin to make the insides of the buses visible.
“The public vehicles will also display prominently the details of information related to the driver and telephone numbers which a passenger can contact, if he/she faces and difficulty,” said the statement.
