New Delhi, Sep 10 (IANS) State-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is likely to have its new chairman and managing director (CMD) by the first week of October, official sources said Friday.
The sources said the six-member search-cum-selection committee headed by Cabinet Secretary K.M. Chandrashekhar will take a decision by the end of this month.
They said most of the aspirants are the chief general manager level officers of BSNL. Some senior telecom department officials are also in the running for the post.
At present Gopal Das is the acting CMD of BSNL, which is the country’s largest wireline service provider with over 71.68 million subscribers.
